Motor swap blues.

Well, I stopped driving my two when it developed a knock in the engine. I had already replaced the head on the motor back when I had my engine fire, which wasn't severe. Then the knock happens like a rod is going. I have always had overheating problems with this motor since I got the car. So I saw where a guy had a motor he got from Jarco that he decided not to use. The thing is, with my job the way it is, I can't find time to do it. I went to the dealership to see how much they would swap them for me. They said it would be $1091 for labor. I went down the street to a place called imports only and they wanted $1500. I miss driving the old girl. I wish I could find a place that was a little more resonable.

Do you have everything to do the swap? Could you get all of it over to the shop in Marietta?

Damn, wish I could help. The swap is pretty easy. The hardest part is getting the motor out of the bottom of the car, it can't come up through the top. Check my GZE swap write up for engine drop pointers and pics.

Yeah, the motor is a complete and just waiting to go in. All I need is to drop the motor and tranny, unbolt the motor, bolt up the other motor and put it back in and hook up evrything.

It's NA right? Could you possibly get everything to the shop in Marietta? It's about 120 miles from Fort Valley. We could easily do the swap for about $600, but I don't know about transporting everything. I'd be happy to help you out if I can. Also, you could use the shop if you wanted or had the time to do it yourself. It shouldn't take long with access to a lift.

Yeah its N/A. Would you have time to do it? Transporting it would be no problem. I could either load it on the trailer or pull it with the tow dolly. I will have to wait until our overtime starts back up though. I could go ahead and bring it. It's just our overtime won't start back until we get our next plane next week. But yeah, $600 sounds great.
