Original decals?
While I know the whole world's gone stealth, I'm in the process of restoring my recently aquired '87 AW11 SC Targa (Japanese import) to all its factory decal'd glory.
The car is two-tone, ie. white on top, silver/grey on bottom. I've sourced an original TOYOTA decal (from Toyota's own parts division) for the front bumper. It's a silver/metalic colour. Wondering what were the original colours used on the "SUPERCHARGER" decals on the doors, the rear bootlid "SUPERCHARGER" and "TOYOTA MR2" decals, plus "that bird" on the bumper? There are a few people recreating them, and I expect I'll resort to these once I check with what Toyota can still source. Cheers. Phil |

These are getting harder and harder to find. Here's another thread on the same topic:

i would take a stab and say that if you have a white-on-silver two tone, then your decals are probably white or the same silvery colour that you already have. i was going to do recreations, but was irritated and i've since stopped my pursuit and stopped wasting my time (wasn't over here). i've started some other projects now and will resume the decal project later. TKSMR2 will probably have a more definitive answer for you...the guy has some MR2 resources and has put-in his time on researching stuff! maybe he'll chime-in here sometime! go-todd-go!

Cheers guys.
Just checked with Toyota (Australia) and they're all out. Not sure yet what's left in Japan, though I have the part # and will check with someone who may be able to order direct. I've also been in communication with: http://toyota-mr2-aw11-reproduction-...com/vinyl.aspx He's been incredibly helpful so far, and given how scarce these OEM decals are, I expect I'll grab these reproductions. Just wishing to confirm colours first. Again, thanks for all your assistance. |
