1988 MK1 MR2 SC

Hi,
I am getting back into the MR2 after I sold my 1988 MK1 NA in 2000. I recently picked up a 1988 SC same color as my original MR2 but she needs some work as I noticed the majority of this MR2s life was on the northeast and has some major cancer spots as well as rusted out underbody parts. I have a problem with the frame were the sway bar is bolt to the frame on the passengers side there is a major rust spot which has eaten away most of the outside frame leaving a big gapeing hole. My question is this repairable with a good welding shop? If so does anyone know of one in TX?
