Need a butt load of info

Alright. So a while ago my 2 started knocking and I posted wondering if anyone could tell me what my cars problem was. Well I got the usual two sided debate of "its the valve clearance" vs "you spun a bearing". Well I pulled the oil pan today (finally) and come to find out, the later is oh so true. Initially when I drained the oil, it didn't look like glitter paint so I assumed it was the valves. Come to find out, all those happy little shards of crank, and or, rod bearings lodged themselves in the sludge at the bottom of the oil pan.

Anyway, I obviously need to do a rebuild. Iv never done this before. Im not worried about whether or not I can do it but what kind of kit should/can I get. Can I get a kit that will fix my immediate problem, (which is what I would like to do. I don't want to invest to much money into this motor) or do I have to buy a whole rebuild kit. and what have you all used.

Im running a stock 4age blue top, 7 rib.

BTW: 5 of my exhaust cams are 3 mm over speck and 1 is 5 mm over. Does this mean anything or can I just ignore it. And if I can't ignore it, will any of you sell me that fancy tool to remove the valve shims my Hanes manual refers to.

Thanks in advance

Don
