20v wont kick over?
hi just got done putting my mr2 together, well my car will not kick over, i have a new starter. when i crank it, it sounds like when a starter is going bad. and in the process of doing this i fried a ground a wire(i replaced it). i dont think my flywheel is to big not letting the starter gear engage or can it be that i need to bleed the clutch line cause i also have no pedal, than again ive started my car with a blown slave cylinder before, its an 87 with the 212mm flywheel, shoot i hope it isnt the 200mm flywheel cause im gonna be pissed. let me know what yall think, maybe i should bump start it to see. oh well let me and any info would be appreciated thank you

How are you set for engine to chasis grounds? Either you don't have one at all, or the one you have is bad.
Get some battery cable, or other substantial wire, bolt it to the chasis and to the motor, and your starter will turn over normally, and you won't burn your harness grounds (which at this point are carrying the full load of that starter, thats why they burn). |

There are a few other possibilities, but with the burnt ground wire, lack of a sufficient chasis to engine ground is most likely the problem.
The starter grounds out through your transmission, and under normal circumstances, through a chasis to engine ground wire. Take that normal path away, and the current will find others. I've had this happen before where somebody forgets to attach a ground, or the existing ground wire is bad. The current then finds my wiring harness. It doesn't do very much damage unless the person just keeps trying to turn it over. If you keep trying to crank it, you will turn your ecu ground wires to slag and possibly damage other parts of your wiring harness as well. |

If you want to post 20v specific questions, there is a 20v specific section on this board. That way other people will see what problem you're having
If you can't figure it out, just remember I sell a complete plug and play harness for the 20v. |
