Replaceing Alternator's are easy, right?

Well I am trying to replace an alteraotr in my 88 mk 1 supercharged. It's kinda a long story so I'll just get to the point. The old alternator was hard wired straight to the regulator with some generic electrical conectors. While I was removeing it I didn't think to match wire colors. The 3 wires coming from the regulator are Green/black/white with black stripe. Here is where the problem starts, The wires on the new alternator are light blue/pink/white. And because the wires from the regulator do not have a plug on them, I can figure out how to wire in the new one. Can you figure it out? please help
