My heater doesn't work
My heater core isn't leaking.
Could it still be that? What else could it be? It blows hot for about 20 seconds then it's cold again. If i turn it off and wait a few minutes i can get another burst of warm air.. Suggestions? Winters a bitch, i need to fix this before i die of frostbite. |

Sounds like it could be clogged up. What does the coolant look like, ie. is it dirty, etc?

It is rusty, but i just got a flush done about 2 weeks ago.
I know i'm going to need another flush, but shouldn't the first one have fixed the clogging parts a little? |

Does it cycle warm and cold? Mine did that and I bled it. There were only a few bubbles that came up but apparently that was enough. It works great now.

Chances are high you have air in the system.

Basically the same.
Bleeding Air out of the MR2 Cooling System Easier to do if you remove the frunk plastics . The plastic hose I used was 7/16". It also seemed to help to turn the heater from hot to cold while the air was bleeding out. (I see you've got a MKI. Hopefully the cooling system didn't change that much and the process is similar) Last edited by 55mr2; 10-27-2007 at 01:33 AM.. Reason: Note to self... Check what forum you're in dumbass |

If you dont have any overheating issues, then you most likely just need to bleed the heater core.
There are 2 points of bleeding in the system. Try just bleeding out the heater core if youre not overheating. |
