how do i tell which 4agze i have
I was wondering how i can tell for sure which generation 4agze i have. Mine has a top mount on it, but its a jdm motor. I really think it came out of a 88-89 mr2 over seas but if anyone could tell me what to look for to know for sure that would be great.

i think i have the same motor but the top writing is red. came from a front wheel drive corolla known as a levin in japan. i was told its either a AE92 or AE101 i was told thay are the same motor the only diff is one shows 5 more HP but its said to be from the exhast that is on the car. but good luck getting the wiring harness!!

and wouldent you know it thats why im wondering. There is a harness out of a "93 4agze on ebay" and one for a 4agze out of an mr2 and the bid ends tonight. So If anyone has any suggestions it would be helpful, hell maybe i'll just order both and sell the one i dont need haha. But if it is out of a corolla would the same harness work on both possibly?

Well i think i am going to get the harness off a 92, if its for the wrong one i guess i'll just have to "retro fit" the harness and make it work.

the one for the 92 should work. cus your engine has DLI and a 92 4agze engine would have DLI to. the only thing you will need to know is witch ecu you have to match the harness. the pin outs are diffrent so do some home work first. but the only thing is we still don't know the exact engine.but for the pin outs go to Club4AG - Tuned Toyota Automobile Enthusiasts

if you get hold of a aw11 4agze distributor, afm, ecu and wireing harness, you could just use that. at least then it wil be basicly a plug and play.
