Honestly shadetrees try a product called PB Blaster, it's like liquid wrench. I'm not that patient though. I only use a "hot wrench", commonly called oxy/acetylene.

I am new to the mr2 but not to cars and i can tell you having a friend with an air tool set is the best. The air chisel is a good bet. If u got a good impact put bolts back in to place with it then then take em out the torque action of an impact will help loosen rust seal that is on cat(nutin like a face full of soot, rust and grease ask me how i know)
