New MR2 owner?

Been wanting one for a while. Found an 88 red one for 700. Guy says he has 1100 in tires and wheels alone, just hates to see it sit. Comes with a rebuilt 4age, timing belt gone, NOS installed but switch never put in dash (never used). Also comes with spare 4age. Wanting to track the car, thinking coil overs, doing own carbon fiber panels and dash, etc. Has surprisingly decent interior. Was wondering what you all though, what fluids are good to put in these (I'm a fan of redline for my 88 4runner for off roading, like synthetic).

Also thinking about selling the two motors and doing a 4agze, mk1.5, or 20v swap. super charger seems it would be more predictable on the track, decently torquey, closer to what I'm used to (94 vette). Would the 4agze require a new ECM? found a site that has some decent ones thru a friend, where he got his skyline motor for his 240.

How much of a pain is it to swap for the 1.5?

I have done chevy 350 swaps in older vehicles, but never built a motor (which I would like to change cams on the 4agze if i get it) to learn more about motors. any input?

Thanks in advance ya'll!

Oh heres a photo...

$700! First thing is we report you to the Authorities for Grand Theft Auto Nice car for $700. Congrats on the steal. That's a lot of questions (advanced one's at that) for a first post. There's a lot of info on GZE and 1.5 swaps. Probably best to do a search first and get your feet wet. Then come back with maybe a few more specific questions.

Awesome, thanks! Still have to get title for it, he owned a car place and ran temp tags all the time. Gave me number of lady at DMV that can do it cheap. Found another one that has a slick top, no power windows. think that would be better for racing, less flex, lighter, but i might like taking the tops off at the track (not sure) I might just get this one running, keep spare motor and nitrous, and sell the car whole or just part it out. Other one I found runs now, and comes with a donor car and title for 1500, trying to snatch it for a grand. which should be more than covered by sell of red car or wheels and tires and such.

Think I have decided on gze, which means if i end up running SCCA its going to have to be the street modified class.

Well good luck with it. I'm doing an 85 (or is it '86?) hardtop for a track day car myself. I'm currently doing a gze rebuild for it now. I'm not sure of the year because I don't have the title for it yet either. Here in AZ you can do what is called a "bonded title" for about $40 and get the current title for it.
