ARP torque specs and proceedure
Did a search and didn't find anything. Checked on the ARP web site and found that they want you to stretch the bolts 5 times (!) and that sometimes the ARP specs are 25% less than the factory specs. I'm doing the main bolts now and would like to know what is the proper proceedure for torquing the ARP bolts (after I've torqued them 5 times)? Anyone know?

My, we are a young group aren't we
. I Called ARP ARP | Contacts direct and the spec is-- tighten to 60lbs. in three step increments. Back off twice (start at zero again), and then tighten final time to 60 lbs. In other words, stretch the bolt three times, not 5 as I mentioned above. Hope this helps all you future engine builders ![]() By the way, factory main bolts are torqued to 44 lbs.
