steady stream leaking gas in my engine bay
I just discovered a gas leak in my engine. I went to the gym and came back, parked, went to fix my headlight switch (still not f***** working), and was overwhelmed by the smell of gas about 15 minutes into the project. I got out in the pouring rain to try and find the leak, with no flashlight, but its kind of hard to find a leak when gallons of water are everywhere.
I finally found it with a flashlight, and its coming from the part where my idle speed control valve attaches to. (ISC). Oh yeah ... I have a 20v. http://www5e.biglobe.ne.jp/~GS_1/mak...t/image007.jpg The green part in the middle is the ISC. I'm not sure what it attaches to, but it was leaking like a mothaf***. Also, the part it attaches to has a big fuel hose attaching to it. I unplugged the hose for a second, as it leaked all over my tranny, and then plugged it back in. This seemed to have stopped the leak for now, but I'd like to know what part the ISC attaches to and how to fix the leak (its a metal part, not a hose). Oh yeah, I used seafoam in my crankcase, gas tank, and injectors like a week ago. |
