Timing Belt

Replacing mine, got one side of the motor mounts off, figured I'd just replace it over it. Got most of the cover screws off except one behind the tensioner pulley for the alternator and such. took adjuster bolt out, doesnt slide at all. do I just take the pulley off? or do I actually have to drop the motor?

Take the nut off the center of the pulley. I know because that stumped me for a while too

I did that, got a damn tool too to remove the thing. tried the outside, broke part of the guide off. tried from the inside too with that two claw contraption that is evil is hell. took out a small part of the inside too. I just want to get it running to play with and sell the motor later, plan on doing a 4agze swap, and gotta get a pulley for that then, dont want to spend the money now. how much are stock ones? I might just take a dremel to it.

So you're saying you broke the pulley trying to pull it off? Next time get a "steering wheel puller" (you can use it for other things, like pulling pulley's). They usually come with 2 long bolts that will thread into those two little holes on the pulley---you then screw in the center bolt and whalla, off comes the pulley! You can even borrow one from AutoZone or Checker.
To answer your question though, probably the cheapest place for a pulley is going to be the salvage yard.
