Windshield Wiper help
Okay, i live in Oregon (it rains a lot)
Driving home tonight, my windshield wipers were on full blast....they collided(like seriously wtf, ive never even heard of this happening EVER) ![]() i was so dumbstruck I watched my driver side wiper sit there immobilized while my passenger side wiper beat the crap out of it I tried to troubleshoot it myself, I even took the passenger side wiper completely off, but it gets a jumpstart on the driver side wiper (obviously the one I need) and completely blocks it from moving just long enough for it to "give up" at all thank god i made it home (without being pulled over, even, on saint pattys night driving at very slow speeds) ![]() I have a presentation at work which I need to leave for in about 7 and a half hours ![]() The driver's side wiper movies freely, the passenger side (the one that blocks it) is still pretty.....tight (i guess the word would be) is there anything I can do first thing in the morning? even if its temporary, because I'm pretty sure it will still be raining like this or worse in the morning any help would be greatly appreciated ![]() Edit: sorry for the ****** title, i thought it would work, and this is sort of time sensitive....and im not mechanically inclined, so sorry if this is a noob question (knowing me, it probably is). I guess all i can do is check again in the morning, I dont really have time to go to a mechanic beforehand Last edited by Recklesss; 03-18-2008 at 11:21 AM.. Reason: read above |

I have seen a Tundra where the metal pole that connects the wiper arm pivots break in half. Take off the cowling under the wiper arms and check if it snapped.

Probably going to have to pull the wiper arm off and see if the motor is still actuating. Could be the motor is dead too. If you're very lucky it just needs to be reseated.

ok quick update (again sorry about the stupid thread title)
I made it to work WOO! that was stressing me out The right windshield wiper works fine, and its held on tight. The driver's side is completely loose, which would imply to me that the motor works, but the wiper itself is somehow disconnected from it. I'll do a little research myself today (when i have a moment alone), but i really dont know where the motor is or where it could be disconnected |

Motor is in the frunk on the passenger side. As they said before check the arm that controls the wipers.

Also just came to mind, the splines where the wiper arm bolts onto can strip out also
