The local shop didn't have what I wanted, so I am getting prices on the larger flex from a local muffler shop that works with us. He should be calling me back within an hour or so.

Raptor13x: the flex joint was a bust. He wants twice what I pay for 2.25" ones! I'll check a shop down the road tomorrow when I go in for some other tubing. The other option is just to grab a foot or so of 2.5" tubing while I'm there, weld that up with the o2 bung, and then you can cut it off wherever it's convenient for you. I think it should work out to about $90 with the flex or $75 without if that sounds fair to you.
Fast510: As far as fitment, the silvertop and blacktop are the same. You can leave the details here. I just need to know what you both need me to build, as I listed on the 2nd page in this thread (post 25). I'll let you know if I have any questions. Also, just noticed that this is your first post. Welcome! ![]() Here are a couple teaser pics of the "pattern" prototype I built tonight. Every piece in this downpipe was measured and spec'd out so I know what to cut and where to cut it. That way I can make things the same every time rather than hand-fitting each part one by one as I build them. An overview of the basic design tacked together: ![]() Here's a shot of the collector. It's a fairly clean design that I can build pretty rapidly without compromising performance: ![]() Progress!Last edited by te51levin; 08-25-2008 at 03:50 AM. |

I was not able to get a 2.5" flex so I'll leave it in plain 2.5" tubing for $75. Shipping is a little more but I'll need your zip code to figure that. PayPal to te51levin (at) fastmail (dot) fm is fine once we figure shipping costs.

I've had to slow down on this due to some unhappy developments - a couple of minor family emergencies and a drunk driver totalling my wife's Camry (luckily unoccupied at the time) earlier this week. That hasn't left a lot of time for exhaust work but I did get most of Raptor13x's pipe welded up tonight. Shipping will be $13.96 via UPS Ground and you can pay me now or wait until it's done, whichever you prefer. I will get the rest done over the weekend and hopefully find time to zap up a couple more 20V adapter pipes.

Raptor13X, your pipe is shipping out this afternoon! PayPal should have automatically sent you a tracking number a few minutes ago. I think you'll be pleased - I'm pretty proud of this one
Thanks again man! |

I am interested in buying one of your down pipe set ups if you're stilling doin' them. I have a silvertop with blacktop electronics and I would like the easiest solution possible as I don't have a ton of time to put into this project. In fact, I would've just used the original exhaust, but the original manifold was cracked so I am using the silvertop's manifold.

I'm still doing them as time allows. In fact I just finished one last night for another guy. I just need you (and Fast510 and anyone else who wants anything built) to take a look at post 25 and follow that model; I need to know who needs what, and that's the best way to keep it semi-organized. Otherwise I have three or four conversations spread out over three pages on two different forums...plus email going to my home account and a few people who send it to my work account...and I can't keep it straight.

Engine & mods: Silvertop with BT electronics Header: 20V Silvertop Cataytic converter: OEM 16v set-up Muffler: OEM Toyota MR2 Parts required: Everything after the ST 20v exhaust manifold Notes: Basically, I have no experience doing exhaust work and not sure what the best setup (for the money) would be. I am interested in as much of the pipping that you are able/willing to do as I am sure everything needs to be replaced. Ship to 84606 (UT). Please let me know what you think. |

Shodanpete, the downpipe ($150 bare or $165 painted) and cat ($125) would be the first things to do, and I'm going to start playing with mufflers as soon as I find the time. That process will take some time and a bit of trial-and-error to get just right, but I think it'll be in the $200-$250 range if my math is correct.
Here's the last downpipe I tacked together in post #43, now fully welded up. This is the basic configuration I will be using from here on out. ![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks guys! More to follow as I find time! Last edited by te51levin; 09-29-2008 at 12:52 PM. |

Engine & mods: 20V Blacktop + 20V silvertop Header: Both are factory 20V Cataytic converter: We have our own to use. Muffler: Factory Toyota SC Parts required: Downpipe X2 Notes: I need these parts finished with SC flanges to use Toyota crush gaskets. We would like the same as what you have in post #54 except to have the rear O2 sensor bung on the other side of the hanger, still angled up though. If this isn't a good idea let me know. Leave all parts unpainted so I can have them ceramic coated. Ship to 98208 WA. |

Custom Header
I have attached a terrible drawing of a header concept for my MR2 Go Cart.
Would it be possible to come up and back along the upper frame rails of the engine frame? The upper rails will be approx. strait above the engine mounts on the sides and at about 3" higher elevation than the engine compartment edges on a regular MR2. I can get exact measurements after I get the engine frame built. The two bolt sensor will need to go on one of the pipes and we need to keep it as short as possible to allow for a small muffler of some sort. What would be the approximate cost? 4-2 Header Concept.JPG |

t351Levin: I am looking at doing a Pacesetter muffler and a magnaflow cat. Let me know what you think of that set-up. I'd like your down pipe as well. Let me know when you think you could have it ready and sent and where to send payment. Thanks!

After I get yours and a couple of others (mymrtwo & Fast510) done, I am going to restructure my process a little. I want to streamline the process so that people can configure and place orders without discussing every detail and asking for a price every time - more like a real store, in other words, and much less chaotic than running things through a forum thread. |

Hey there, bump, whatever... Are these 20V exhaust parts still happening? It's been almost a month since I asked for two of them, one for me and one for Fast 510. Is there anything I can do to help this along? I don't mean to sound testy but I haven't seen any activity on this thread in a few weeks either. Has this subject moved elsewhere? Bueller? Bueller? anyone... Bueller?

Still here, still plugging along, though most of the recent chatter has been either on the other forum or via phone and email conversations. As much as I'd like to have a great excuse, I don't. This is my first time attempting any "production style" side jobs (as opposed to one-off fab or repair) and I'm still getting my system and methods down. Efficiency is not my strong point here. And, though this is o |
