Question HHHHEEEELLLLPPPP!

ok i was at pick n pull today looking for a wiring harness for my 86 4x4. i am still in need of an automatic for my 89 mk1. i saw a transmission that was in a 90 corolla...it did have a 16v in it...will this still bolt right up to my car?

a corolla and an mr2 have the same transmission and engines...they are just flipped around backwards in an mr2. i asked if a transmission out of a 90 corolla would fit in an 89 mr2 because they changed the mr2 engines and bodystyles to a 3sge and 3stgte in 1990. i just didn't know that the tranny and motor was the same in a 90 corolla opposed to the mk1 mr2's.

as long as its the fwd version which a 90's model is, then yes it will bolt right up the only thing you need to use off your old one is the transaxles due to difference in lengths I think.

Better do some more research before you put your money on the table.

Front wheel drive cars have the shifter mechanism on the rear of the transaxle, and the MR2 shifter is on the front.

It is the "Same" transmission, and it will just bolt right up, BUT the transaxle must be modified, all this is well documented in the 20 valve swap section of this forum.
