Rear Window Visor! Need Help!

Does anyone know of a dealer that sells the rear window visor for a 1988 MR2 S/C? I've tried local junkyards but all I seem to come around are NAs with no visors. Thanks for any help offered!

They are sometime hard to find. Just keep an eye open in the for sale section or put up a want add on the forum. Mine's in the mail and should be here friday, I'm excited.

It doesn't matter if it is an N/A or not... most of those got visors too... they are just an option. At least two of my N/A cars came with them originally. Watch ebay (saw one a few days ago) and the forums and you'll find one. Heck, one of my cars came with a spare , so they are out there! I used the spare though on my latest mk1 though, or I'd help you out there. Good luck, they're out there!!

Do you happen to know what the price range for these might be? I found one listed on Ebay but the visor itself is 179.00 and then its located in Japan so there is a hefty $55.00 shipping charge.

$179 seems high... especially with shipping it!! I've seen them go for aroun $100 on ebay (think some go for around that shipped if you can get lucky). I'm pretty sure you can get one for at least $150 shipped at worst... I don't think I'd go any higher than that for one myself.

Anybody know if the rear window black plastic is different on a visor car as opposed to a non-visor car? I've never had one that didn't come with a visor so I'm not sure. Thought I'd ask.

I'll get to see both of my cars today. One coming with the visor and the other not and I'll take a look at the plastic and see if I can answer that question. I believe its the same but I might be wrong.

The visor should come with longer screws to replace the top screw on each side of the trim. There are also 2 plastic "pins" that apparently fit in a hole i need to drill. I just got my visor in the mail a few hours ago. Looks pretty straight forward.

I finally today found a visor at a junk yard in great shape which cost me $7 w00t. I got one of the longer screws you are talking about but couldn't find the other one so now I'm in search for the long screw that goes in the visor.

My car doesn't have the visor. I've seen one that does. With a visor it looks like the the trim across the top of the window has a continuous ledge/clip/lip whereas my car does not. I'm pretty certain that trim piece is different.

I fit mine on this morning. If you drill the holes a little crooked it looks bad.
Also the side trim SUCKS! Ever single nut broke through the plastic. I'm going to end up epoxying the nuts to the car.
Never the less adding a visor to a non-visor car only involves drilling 2 holes.

I dont know why but I started to take the visor off mine then when I tried to bolt it back on all the screws werent there. I took the plastic trim off and used silicon to hold the nuts in place so I could tighten the trim down. Its been holding for a while now.

Yea I know what you mean with the side trim pieces...I used old fashion duct tape strips to hold the nuts in place so I could actually get a screw in them. I mean I know these cars are 20 years old but I dont know what toyota was thinking when they didnt just weld the nuts to the metal part of the side trim.

Cool, that answered my question... I didn't know if the two little holes were in the other trim or not. My 86 roller hardtop car had holes, therefore must have had the visor at some point. In any case it has one again... aside from these long screws we're talking about now. I don't think I have those for mine either unless I just haven't turned them up in the parts stash yet. I'd imagine Toyota sells those though?
