what does this button do00ooooo?????

ok so im a car noob. just started working on my just bought 87 MR2. It was overheating and after taking out the thermostat housing, it was really gunky and nasty.. the thermostat was snapped so i put in a new one today.

then when i was putting it back together, i found that some pipes didnt have hoses and such...

heres a pic

that little metal pipe thing on top of the thermostat housing and the other pipe where all the other egr/ whatever hoses are lined up...i have no idea where they go and i checked the manual???

plz help

The bleeder valve and nipple on the top of the thermostat housing run to the side nipple of the coolant expansion tank on the rear firewall, not to the cap. If there is a rubber or clear hose coming out of the top left side of the coolant bottle, put the other end on that nipple.

That smaller nipple is a vacuum line. I can't tell you where it goes exactly, but there should be a vacuum line diagram on the bottom of the engine lid.
