axle boot needed, anyone?

I somehow got a tiny crack in the rubber boot covering the drivers side axle. The result is nasty axle grease being thrown about everywhere.

Shipping would be to 95969. Used or whatever. Any easy fixes besides replacement?

87 n/a 5 speed

Thanks,
chad

Short term you could try wrapping it in tape. Absolutely no guarantees on how well that'll last though.

You might want to try just your local parts stores for the boot. If they don't have it, give Aaron at Lithia Toyota (The forum sponsor) a call and I'm sure he can hook you up.

You do NOT want a used boot.

You might look for a local drive line repair shop. They repair and rebuild axles with CV joints and drive shafts.

I had to have the drivers side rebuilt at a local shop. They didn't have an MR2 axle in their stock but did have the CV joints so they rebuilt mine in a day.

Nothing against Aaron, just another option if he can't help you.

You might want to check in the BGB to see if there's a procedure for doing it if you haven't already.

Good luck! Let us know how it goes and take a few pictures of the process if you feel up to it
