Sagging doors '88sc

Anyone have a link to an after-market dealer who carries a door pin and bushing replacement kit to remedy sagging doors. Checked the Toyota dealership and they will only sell complete hinges at $74 each (x4 to fix both doors).

Any help would be great

Did you get a part number from them?

Have you priced the hinges from www.partznet.com? I'm sure they can do better than $74 per hinge for the OEM part.

I didn't get part#'s from the dealership because the parts guy couldn't be bothered to write down a price quote for me........seems like he actively trys to block me from comparison shopping because he knows dealership prices suck!

I also asked him for prices on several other items (a "wish list" as he called it) which he promised to phone to me........never happened.

I did however find this on another forum:

Door Hinges Part #s:

68720-17010 Upper LH (Driver)
68740-17010 Lower LH (Driver)
68710-17010 Upper RH (Passenger)
68730-17010 Lower RH (Passenger)

Price is $28 each from Jay Marks Toyota

Those are the correct part numbers. $30 each would be about right at a discounted dealer. They were $41.39 last year list price.

I believe that technically the passenger door hinges can be flipped upside down and remounted on the driver's side.... haven't tried it myself yet though.

my doors were sagging pretty bad...

i just cut some chain link fence wire and shaped it like an S so it fit over the hinge bolts and wouldnt slip out. then i supported the door by jackstands and loosened the bottom hinge bolts (the side that connects to the door, you dont need to touch the fender ones) and slipped the wire over the bolts then tightened again. i checked the alignment, and it needed allitle more anti sag so i just made another S, this time facing the other way so it would even it out, and it shut pretty nicely. it works fine so far. btw i just followed the tutorial on the MR2 WIKI http://www.mr2wiki.com/pmwiki/index....MKI.DoorHinges

some people said that even with the new hinges, it wasnt straight, so u might wanna try this out in case.
