temp gauge not functioning properly
Hey all,
finally got the engine in my newest 88 mr2 and everything seems to be going good. today the temp gauge started acting odd. it warms up to normal, then it drops with no reading at all. i've been checking everything and have bleed my system several times. there is no over heating or losing fluid. can anyone point me in the right direction for things to check out. I'm still fairly new to this group, but i have learned one thing....these cars are more of an addiction than anything....on my third mr2 and i can't get enough take care all chad |

Check the sensor wire and make sure it isn't broken or corroded, my 85 had the same problem and it was a broken wire right at the sensor connection. Follow the large hose that connects to the water pump neck from the fill up tube, the sensor is mounted to the side of that and should be visible.
