input shaft C52 and E51

Are there any differences in the clutch disc splines for these transmissions?
Also I've read on this forum that the E51 is a heavier unit. I've yet to weigh them, but I can't see any reason for a weight difference.

Those with any insight, correct me.

The E51 was built to handle more power (it is basically a MK2 turbo tranny) so it is heavier duty and about 45# heavier than an NA tranny, the spline count and shaft thickness is also diferent between the 2.
