Brake Light

Well the last few days my brake light on the dash stays on occasionally. I've always double checked to make sure the brake isn't up, and it isn't - nor are any of the calipers actually locking. I pushed/released the button in front of the brake myself, and it doesn't change. It goes away after a bit, but I've had it come back while driving a few times.

I assume that this is caused by a short somewhere after the switch, but I'm wondering if this is a common problem or if anyone has ideas on where to start.

Thanks.

Brake light on the dash is for the switch at the hand brake , check the switch under the center console.

^I pressed the switch myself with no luck of it going away. It went away later after about 5 minutes. So a short, or is the switch itself going bad?

Mine did that then it fixed itself and it never happened again. I have no idea why cause I checked all the connections to the dash and my solder joins but I think it was the switch in the end

That's my guess to. It's happened twice now, and it seems to be in relation to the colder weather we've recently had (snow). As of now it is fixed, but I'm sure it will happen again. If it does I'll move into pulling the console apart and checking the connections for the switch.
