Im gonna take my piece to a mechanic anyways but...
Somehow in a month i blew threw all my oil. But I dont see a leak, and I dont have oil splattered around my exaust anywhere. Now I went for a canyon run. My car died at the top. Restarted immediately when I turned it over. But now, and heres the kicker...one of my pistons is making a crazy knocking noise. I put 2 quarts of 10w 40 and its still doing it. What the F'n H do you think I did. What happened?! I bought a JDM motor about 10 months ago with 50,000mi on it. So I figured it be pretty legit Any help would be greatly appreciated as far as diagnosing the problem is concerned ![]() |

The biggest issue you've mentioned is the loss of oil. I'd suggest doing a leak down test, or have a mechanic take a peek into the motor with one of their little cameras.
If you're losing oil and it isn't leaking then chances are you're burning it. A leak down test should test the integrity of the motor. If you ran the motor with little to no oil that could have something to do with the knocking noise. You can probably see a hint of blue in your exhaust gases too. |

Your oil cooler, or head gasket could have a leak which would allow the oil to get into your cooling system.
If you lost 2 or 3 quarts of oil while burning a few tanks of gas, ONE. you'd be leaving a big blue cloud behind you OR TWO, there'd be puddles of oil where you parked the car OR THREE the coolant system ate it. |
