well its really needed i revved it up the day i tried to get it running and there was oil mixed with coolant!... it looked milky which i know is a bad head gasket..
i actually connected all the vacuum hoses how they were suppose to be the owner before them had them all mixed up.. i followed the diagram under the hood.. well anyways i know which bolts your talking about but wont i need a magnet of some sort to prevent something from falling.. im going to practice first on the engine 4ag that i have sitting in my backyard, which i already pulled the cams and covers off now what i need to do is remove the head.. |

If the head gasket is bad, you better fix that before you worry about any sensors or vacuum leaks--this is why other people asked about compression numbers--so we can see if the head gasket's bad. Of course, if you have coolant in your oil, or exhaust coming out through your radiator, or that sweet antifreeze smell out your exhaust, those will also tell you the head gasket's bad.
A bad head gasket can act like a vacuum leak, but you get coolant or oil (or both) into the combustion chamber instead of just air. Always fix what's obviously wrong, even if it doesn't seem like it could cause the particular problem you're having. |
