Mine quit working in the beginning of winter. I'm hoping it's just a loose wire.

This controls the power for the blower including speeds.
if you remove the glove box you will see it

if the wire is damaged it wont work properly

Muffinman,
actually found that just before you replied, only problem is all the auto stores that have them are for cars without AC and mine has it.

any idea where one could be located or if there is an interchange?

thanks again for your quick response and excellent photos

i stuck the old one back in the dash so it wouldnt get damaged but before i did knocked all that loose looking
paste stuff off. low and behold it works on all speeds now.

still want to locate a replacement for it as i dont trust it
but at least its working for now.

Heater Blower Motor Problem

OK, so I'm a year late in replying, but perhaps this will help someone else.

My heater blower stopped one day, then started again when I hit a bump. It continued like that, running some times and not others. Sometimes it would not run, and sometimes it would start and then shortly slow down to a crawl.

When I took the dash apart and pulled the motor out, it would run in one position and not another. The problem was the motor itself. When I took the cap off the top, it was filled up with carbon and lint, and the brushes were worn down to almost nothing. I found an electrical motor repair shop who sold me some little copper brushes (better than the originals) for $17.
I had to grind them down to fit and then solder them in place. I've never really gotten the hang of soldering, so it ain't pretty. But it works just like new.
