ahhh that sucks. Well as you can see by some of my pics I tossed up in here, I'm in the middle of a few car projects. this has been a great forum for help and advice. I'm also on club4ag under this same screen name. not a lot of old school toyota fans in MN that I've found, just a handful... Kinda fun being a rare breed!

OMG that throttle body looks right nasty!!

Did you say that that crap in there was dried coolant crystals?

Have fun cleaning that s***!

I can only imagine what the rest of the insides of that beast must look like, good thing you plan on doing a full rebuild

NO KIDDING! Yeah, I've given up on hearing the gze run strong in the mr2. She's getting pulled piece at a time, and cleaned and rebuilt correctly. That motor is gonna get a FULL, ground up, bolt by bolt rebuild. All new, all pretty. Cause hey, you've seen where I'm starting from now, and if I plan on keeping that motor, how could I go about it half-assed?? theres no way! It's all gotta be shiny and new! so yeah, that's a little taste of where I am right now... I'll keep this going as new problems are found and dealt with, all updated with pics as it progresses. I'm sure I'll be needing more help

There's a box in the lower B pillar that has to do with seat blelt warning lights and "key in ignition" buzzer. This might be the noise maker for some of the recent posters.

I kinda dig that key buzzer noise... it reminds me of what I love about older cars.

i kinda really wish i had one, my last car didn't have one either and i locked the keys in it twice! But the car had those little triangle shaped windows in front of the regular ones, and the one time i locked the keys in i reached in and turned the crank for the traingle window until i could reach in and get the lock.

The other time though i had to call a tow truck (cause i was waiting for the locksmith to get my keyblanks in for a second set)

Luckily someone with me had a CAA card (which is the canadian AAA)

totally off topic, but I gotta ask you, do you know what the price market is in canada regarding AE86's? is it as ridiculous as it is here? people here are getting more and more balls about it and charging outlandish prices for base unmodded SR5's or gts shells. Id be curious if I could find a RHD ae86 in canada and bring 'er back to the states...I know there's more of them up there than down here, except maybe in Cali. I mean, you guys are just a border away for us Minnesotans

I don't even know how I'd buy a car in canada and register it here...or the process involved.

It can be done, i know that.

But you want a RHD one???? Why?

I think i saw one for sale here a while back, i'll see if i can find something quick, but people want a fair bit for them, but with a stronger americain dollar you may come out alright in that kind of sale

I looked in the vancouver craigslist, because there are none for sale here in PG :P

This guy wants 5 grand for his 1987 Toyota Corolla AE86

Not sure what they're worth, but have a VERY hard time believing it's worth that much.

This guy wants 700 for FWD one Toyota coupe gts

This guy wants 2400 for his, and says he won't allow a test drive.... Uh hu.... FS: 1985 Corolla GTS

There are tonnes of ae92's for sale in van, and a some ae86s as well. What are people asking for them in your area.

Oh and to find out about buying and registering a canadian car talk to an insurance place, or whoever you guys deal with to transfer a car normally, and they'll usually help you out.

This guy is selling a 4agze ae86 for 5500 but it's been up for some time so you could probably work him down a bit, but car is in victoria, so you'd have to take it back to the mainland on the ferry, and by the time you take the ferry there, then take a ferry back with 2 cars, you;ll have spent a crapload of money.

Ok, ok, this is epicly ridiculous...

This guy is in toronto, so a LOT closer than vancouver or anything but he claims he has only just over 100,000 kilometers on the car, and it's all original, power steering, sunroof, and mirrors, NOTHING ELSE POWER, no other options from what i can see, nothing modified, COMPLETELY stock.

Guess how much he wants, anybody, just guess...

Oh and it's the original owner
