Actually both can Too retarded and you can get the exhaust literally glowing from the high exhaust gas temps. Too advanced and you get pinging and incorrect burn and a whole bunch of other problems. I would rather have too retarded than advanced but neither is actually very good. Having it retarded normally doesn't do much harm but that is not to say it won't. I'm starting to confuse myself now, point is correct timing = no timing related problems.

i checked my tps and and the resistance between terminals 1 and 4 is off by like 40 ohms, and wot resistance is off by a few too...

exhaust fumes did smell a little like gas and i had a bit of a flat spot in power between 3 and 4k rpms... i figured it was probably dirty injectors not spraying a fine enough mist... poured some seafoam in the gas to try to speed up the injectors getting clean..

about 6 canyon runs later..i dont smell any gas and that flat spot is gone....well i didnt know it was a flat spot till i noticed more power thru the band

everything im seeing from the car right now say its running fine.... and if cam timing really does make it run alot rougher than i probably dont need to worry about it...its running really nice

i think im just going to neglect this motor and start saving up for something new..and start researching wat works or wat doesnt... any one have a busa engine 4 sale?

thanx 4 the help

you want to stick a busa engine in an mr2? That would be sweet actually, if of course it was modded to hell like any busa that's been ever stuck in a car

I've heard of them being put in replica lotus super 7's and working

i dont know but im gonna try dammit.....well puting a bike motor in any car is relatively straight forward...only problem is figuring out the diff setup, and you delete everything off the car alot of lines, wires and that leaky clutch master cylinder ive got...cable clutch

edit:ha ha lotus mr2 mk 7 lmao.... im already telling people its a toyota but its actually a lotus i get believed sometimes

rofl

It was originally a lotus design though. But i'd can see how people'd believe you, most people i know have never heard of the car, i've had a few people come up and mention that they never realized that toyota made a mid engine car and ask me what about it.
