those are not real projectors. you're just wasting your money on those

if you want your money worth, check out pegasus projectors

Your best bet is going to be euro spec Hella H4 housings or the sylvania silver stars. The pegasus projectors are very good but will only give you either a high or low beam but not both since they are designed to use the single filament H7 bulbs.

Those listed on the ebay page are decent when combined with a nice set of bulbs. But you will pay dealry for the good bulbs. My brother has a set just like that but black on his black 86. THEY SUCK. He would do better driving with candles in the headlights! Personally I have silverstar's in the 85 and they are good. But yeah.. for true "projectors" I would do the Pegasus Projectors mentioned above.

That is all the low beam, you really don't even need high beams with this setup.

Another side note is that this kit requires you use a H7 bulb. So there is no high beam at all.

Are there any systems that maintain the use of the high beam?

I've got ebay sets on both of my cars, but with good bulbs. The more recent e-bay models are a little better than the older because of the placement of the bracket that holds the "projector looking lens" in place. My bulbs cost quite a bit more than the ebay lights cost, but I like to see what I'm about to run into before I hit it at speed. Here's the kicker... those suckers are glass, not plastic! So when a deer's jaw shatters one they make a much cooler sound (trust me... I know). I believe the glass lens makes them non-DOT approved, but unless the car nazis are tapping on your headlights with their Maglite then you should be fine. The only down side I've noticed is that in rainy conditions these act a bit like real projectors and somewhat drown out under the orange city street lights. My cousin's BMW was bad about doing that as well with his factory projectors.

Duh on the black set... what kind of genious does it take to realize black doesn't reflect light anywhere near as well as shiny chrome? I'm fairly sure I could have figured that out in first grade!
