changing timing belt

can the timing belt be changed with out dropping the engine?

The timing belt CAN be changed without dropping the engine. You have to disconnect the passenger side motor mount to do the job so just place a piece of wood (to protect the oil pan) on a floor jack to support the engine from the bottom. The Haynes manual outlines this procedure fairly well.

EDIT: Same goes for the head gasket.
