well the 5spd car is now an automatic..... and i must say why the hell did they offer a auto on a 4ag? took it out for a spin and everything works great; even hooked up a aftermarket cruse control system for the next guy. But damn the car feels soo slow w/ the auto gear box its sad.

I might put some of the other car together before i roll it outside but have not fully decided on that yet, I have to get a few other cars out of the way before i continue w/ my own personal projects. Im hoping that the ae86 will only take a few more weeks to a month and in the mean time i can get my q45 fixed and put back on the road

I know! That auto box just kills the car! And the gear ratio's are way off in my opinion

monopolizedinc, Noted some comments you made regarding power window repairs a while back. Couple of quick questions; Is it necessary to take out the entire regulator/motor/glass/etc. in order to replace just a bad motor? Also, if I do take it all out, is there any kind of lubrication or other maintenance I should do while I have it all out? Thanks.

I'm different in that I saw my 1st Mark 1 in 1986 and waited till 1989 to buy the last year in the fastest model I could. However, I was smitten and could not sell my car and 21 years later it's still out in the driveway w plates and a roll cage, driven daily.

I've bought 2 NA carsin the meantime, soas not HAVE to drive the racecar daily. These were distroyed by immigrants here in South Florida ramming us from behind at 45mph. Both cars gave their lives to save mine.

Altho I caved in and bought the wife at PT Cruiser, she doesn't realize that it hauls my Mr2 parts on a regular basis.

Like you, I spotted a Mk1 buried in a neighbor's storage unit one day. It was a 88SC which had not been driven in 13 yrs. Yep, I couldn't say no just like you.

So now I have a backup SC to drive for $900, it only has 80K too, of course the interior is perfect having been buried for 13 yrs in the dark.

My wife prays every day that I not stumble onto another Mark 1 which needs TLC to live another day, unfortunately for her I have room for 9 more cars in our driveway.

Here's to our next project!!
