Angry NO NO NO HEAD GASKET

DAMN
spent an our this morning putting in a new speedo cable and fixing a new fan to the IC and I started it up (first checked the oil it was full unusual cus it leeks oil by the oil cooler) and it sounded like it was miss firing or back firing down in the exhaust. well checked the oil again and milk was on the stick!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But that is the the least of my worries, my girlfriend of 4 years just told me that the baby she is carrying may not be mine. we broke up a month a go and not even 3 weeks later she gets with some guy and didn't even use protection. Then a week later gets back with me. and this isn't even her MO at all she is real shy. So much for life this week

Women are strange mythical creatures foisted upon men by sadistic aliens from another dimension. Then the bastards spread a toxin through our air that makes us all twitterpated.
(watch Bambi). I think they watch "Days of our lives" and laugh until their rootbeer blows out their breathing orifices.

You will hear all kinds of advice:

1.Get married, claim baby.
2. DNA test:
2a. claim baby
2b.send baby and mom packing

If you choose option 1 or 2a, never look back because you have now committed yourself to a wife and a child. An innocent child that only wants love and will return it regardless of what you look like or do for a living.

Advice from an old guy: You can fix the car yourself, but need help sorting out the girlfriend issue. Time is of the essence, seek professional help from people that work in marriage and couple counseling. Have a DNA test run so you can make informed decisions.

Actions she took after you were "broken up" were not your responsibility.

Can't say I'd be willing to walk a mile in your shoes cause I'd bet they would be about two sizes too small.

Good luck to you!

Fix the car walk away from her. Find someone else.
Shortest fairytale in history.
Once apon a time.......
Man meets girl
Man spoons girl
Man asks girl to marry him
Girl says no
Man lives happy ever after..................

Better now than later walk away , stuff her

Follow your Gut instinct.
Does the girl bring joy and happiness?
Is she a PIA, or utterly loyal, dependable, caring, and trustworth?
Does she have any substance abuse problems?

The American Dream:
1. stable, interesting, and secure, high paying job
2. trophy wife, good looking, intelligent, a good breeder
3. healthy, smart, good looking kids
4. time and money enough to pursue hobbies, or sports

So many of us have failed to achieve the American Dream. Perhaps it is because it is just a Dream. And those who have outwardly appeared to have achieved it, are in reality: tormented by insecurities, paranoia, depression, or substance abuse.

I'll just fall back on H. L. Menken's definition of life:

Life: A great sucking whirlpool of despair, enlightened by false hopes in an ever darkening universe. (joking)

Follow your Gut instinct. If your gut tells you to change your phone number, or move . . . . do it. If it tells you that you will never find a better woman that this one . . . man up and take the plunge.

I still don't know what i'm going to do.
I'll most likely have to put the car in a shop. I can't do a head gasket in the drive way of my apartment. But I don't know if a shop will touch this motor has a S/C swap.
And the girl well.......There is a very small chance that it is actually mine. And I do pray that it is mine and I do love the girl I have all ways wanted to take care of her. but I don't know yet

I thought the american dream was to get rich quick, drive a bunch of fast cars, sleep with a bunch of hot girls, have three stupid blonde girlfriends at the same time, and shoot porn magazines for a living....

Hell thats my dream! Although I havent quite gotten the whole rich thing down... Or the fast cars.... Or the stupid girlfriends...

But I do have alot of porn mags, does that count??

But seriously, if its your kid, find out. Take care of it, I have so many friends that have had children, and it has changed them for the better. Makes you less selfish, you realize someone depends on you. And if she messes around on you anymore, KICK HER OUT, and keep the kid.

On to the headgasket, it is easy enough to do in the driveway. If you take a day or two off of work around the weekend you could even have enough time to do it. Have a buddy or two come over, if for nothing other than 'moral' support (drink, laugh your asses off). Ive had this car for so long I can do a headgasket in a matter of hours. So if I can, anyone can lol.

^ LOL
today was better. I went to see her and I do realize how much i care and love her.
I am a man no doubt about it if its mine I will def do the right thing (GOD I HOPE ITS MINE) we only went to the free clinic and there numbers are know to be wrong so i hope she is farther along than they say. I don't know how I'm going to feel if its not mine.

as for the car I have sunk way to much money in it to not do anything I'v only driven it like 10 times since the S/C swap well sine I even had the car got it for $50 and the rest is I spent is putting the motor in I'm close to or over $4000 on this thing and only driven it 10 times. I would like to do it myself and I know I can but it would have to be do some day by day thing. I haven't even priced a head gasket but I do wont a metal one if that is a good ideal.what is the best one to use??

thanks every one for the support
jason

Ya, if you don't rely on it as a DD, and you can just work on it at your apartment that's your best bet. It probably will suck working there, but you don't have to pay a shop to steal your money just kidding

If your asking about headgaskets, here's some other do's and don'ts---

1. Don't skimp on the headgasket, remember this is a pressurized engine, NOT normally aspirated.

2. Do use a torque-wrench ONLY to bolt this cylinder head to the block.

3. Don't assemble either surface without first "cleaning" to a absolutely, perfectly metal only finish.

4. Do follow the Torgue sequence shown on Page EM-46 without exception.

5. Don't use the used head bolts without confirming their lengths with a micrometer.
(3.54in & 4.25in) otherwise use new!!

6. Do use the 3 timing marks shown on Page EM-23/49 (only turn crankshaft clockwise)and the one on EM-16 (TDC)

7. Don't use that old distributor O-ring no matter what-- Page IG10&11

8. Do consider new rubber washers on these valve cover bolts-old ones will leak.

Go slow be through...

^ All that is so true!

Except i've generally heard that it's best to replace the head bolts regardless
