2800s a little high don't you think?

Mine cold starts at 1800-2000 and then drops to 1000

it's possible that it's your throttle cable and dirt from build up is causiong it to stick when it shouldn't. Follow the cable to where the two(pedal and throttle) meet in the engine bay. there should be a plastic protective covering. remove and clean with some solvent and take some pentatrating lubricant and give it a good dowsing. that may be the issue. cleaning should clear it up.

At least that's what it was for me.

My Google Map

If everything is in good working condition you can adjust to idle to anywhere from 600-1000 when warm.
