It's to alarm you that your key is in the ignition.... you can simple leave it unplugged or open it up and bend the ringer, then plug it up. You will notice a seatbelt on the dash while it's plugged in..

Leave it unplugged, those ding dong things are just annoying. My racecar has a ding dong thing that warns when you go over 110kph and its damn annoying because it never turns off. [Threadjack] does anyone know where the speed ding donger is? (the weirdbox on the dashboard circuit board maybe?) Don't know if it was installed later or if JDM cars might of come with it. I want to take it out and beat it with a hammer[/threadjack]

That's pretty funny. The only reason I knew about the speed-dinger is Initial D (I googled it out of curiosity). It must have been a JDM or non-U.S.-spec thing.

I think the key-in+ door open buzzer is the only one I have not disabled on my car. It's pretty useless because if the door is all the way open, I damn well know about it. If it's just ajar though, it doesn't buzz.

I ripped that damn buzzer thing out of my car. As Clarkston said about the Cadillac CTS: "I hate the way it bongs when you do absolutely everything... So of course it bongs when you open the door. I know the door is open! There's a gap! That's how I got out!"
