Did you buy a 16 or 20 valve?

You can probably leave the manifolds the engine came with on as the engine ran fine in Japan.

Will you have to pass a smog equipment visual check? What are your states laws regarding engine swaps and smog equipment?

I put one in an 85 and it worked... the only thing you will need to switch probably would be the throttle body... now when you do that make sure to take the idle air control valve off the jdm throttle body... otherwise i found that idle was screwy since it didnt have the egr and the original was made to run with it... otherwise its not too bad of a swap
