first change the fuel pump and make sure that's the only problem.

Get tools, get repair manual, get busy.
Do subject searches on this forum about the job, or problem you have. Its unlikely anyone is going to write a step by step procedure to replace a head gasket. But the forum users here, will probably help you with any interesting difficulties you encounter. |

You should also know that 1st Gen AW11 MK1 MR2s were never turbo from the factory, some were Supercharged (S/C). There is a huge difference in how both work.
The fuel pump is inside the gas tank. You will have to remove all the underside cover pieces (if you still have them), detach the parking brake from the underside as well as all the hoses and anything else attached. Then drop the tank, preferably with as little gas as possible. A gas pump can range anywhere from $100 - $200 depending on what you buy brand wise and where. The best way to change the fuel pump is to have some help, a lift and patience. Otherwise, you will need 4 cinder blocks / 4 jack stands and even more patience. Good luck! |
