You can substitute the Driver's side SC MR2 axle from a Left side, Camry 90, V6, manual Trans. model. I've done this, so that's how I know.
The passenger axle . . . . find a used one, take it even if its messed up. Then ship it out to a rebuilder like Raxles. There are perhaps a half dozen outfits nationwide that could do the needed work. SC passenger side axles are not easy to find. Or, you could swap in a transmission from a N.A. and use N.A. axles. Or swap in a 6 speed, do the necessary conversions to it, and use axles from a 91 N.A. Mr2. I wish I had an encouraging, hope inspiring, message to go with this info. But you are between a rock and hard place on this one. |

Yeah, I know the feeling of having the Budget Monkey on your back. I have a black hole that moves over the road and its where all the money goes.
The road to a six speed swap is pretty bumpy. Its way not like throwing a bunch of junk together, modding it, and it will work perfect out of the box forever. |

The rebuilds are kinda expensive... I priced this recently after I discovered the passenger side N/A axles aren't available either... I ordered "the last one in the warehouse" and I get there to pick it up and the box looks small... it was a driver's side N/A. Rebuilding them seems to be the only good option now. Axles Unlimited was who I spoke to about mine, but I decided it was OK for now being as it wasn't giving me trouble yet.

I have na half shafts
I have 2-3 sets of na half shafts for the N/A c-52 and c-50 trannys, they were in perfect shape and on our street cars untill 2008 when stupid ass immigrants to South Florida were learning how to drive and rear ended both cars.
See attached list for more "unfindable" parts Quote:

S/C E-51 vs C-52 transmissions-exp'd advice
Donny-
Been in those shoes, as I've raced my 89S/C since 1989 in SE Divisional SCCA, in the beginning supporting 3 kids as well. Truly Budget Racing. When I taught my Pit Crew (wife) to drive a stickshift racecar in 1992 the E-51 Supercharged Close-Ratio "parts only" rebuild cost $800, in 1998 it cost $1300 for the same exact "parts only" list. Last time I checked it was well over $2,000 and thusly I was financially forced to check into alternatives. My C-52 conversion tranny cost $400, my yard supplier was nice enuff to let me take all the parts I "inadvertantly" had to remove to extract the tranny. (Making real "good yard" friends is mandatory for Budget Racing) In the 6 years since that conversion I've discovered: I like the c-52 better!! Cheaper to rebuild ($250 labor & junk tranny) longer "legs" in each 2-4 gears, which is supported by the extra torque & HP the Supercharger supplies, less shifting in Autocross events, (more WOT time) easier maint (shafts unbolt w/o draining tranny) axle bearings are stupidly cheaper strange "extra" toe-in w S/C arms (much, much faster cornering) aftermarket parts ARE availiable. If you are expecting to stay in competition for several more years, with this car, you might want to considering the financial aspects of this swap. It has proved very viable in my racing endeavors. mr2tim Supercharged Toyz Raczing Boca Raton, Florida |

I knew SC axles were a little tricky to find but not that hard, I'm going to rub it in my saying I have 2 sets of them just sitting on the shelf doing nothing
![]() I just use the early n/a boxes I found them to be way easier to find people literally dump them on my doorstep because that's closer than the scrap yard. I also never liked having the gears far apart my shift times are stupid fast so I get zero downtime between gears pretty much. Whatevers easiest to find I suppose, an old corolla box may be easier to find than an axle in your case. They don't blow that often either, I ran one locked with a SC engine behind it and was sure doing hard tarmac launches would kill it. The motor died before the box but I'm putting a 20V behind it now to finish what I started. |

I'll second the C52 tranny deal... I've got an 88 C52 in my Supercharged swap car with a good clutch and flywheel (illegal garage clutch setup) and it is SWEET. Holy cow what fun!! And like Tim said... easier/cheaper to mess with to boot. I haven't had a minute's trouble out of mine yet, and I don't think Paul (previous owner of the car) did either. Also the last C52 I picked up was only around $70 for a box out of an 87 former police impound lot MR2.

i have a c52 with a six puck stage three act clutch(112mm) and 8.5 lb fidanza flywheel but im also running 15psi of turbo(60trim) boost and 117shot nitrous w/ methanol injection the first 6k launch at the track friday the clutch turned to **** the car jump about 3 feet and hit the rev limiter(it stopped pulling) the other n/a trans the diff seems to have a lot of play wene you move the inner cv which is why i took it out in the first place
