It's WAY easier to just buy a blacktop 20v, which comes with the MAP sensor from the factory (and makes more power). It'd cost more than the difference in price to convert the Silvertop.

Not necessarily.

Really all it takes to go Map on a silvertop is the blacktop ecu and a map and IAT sensor from an early 90's corolla.

If you're having me make the harness, just let me know beforehand that you want to run the blacktop ecu.

For existing silvertops running the stock afm, I make an adapter set with allows you to convert to the blacktop ecu and map/iat without doing any wiring.

thanks man your a life saver well the reason im not going blacktop is because i got a great local deal on a silvertop for only 450 buck witch i think is awsome unless you think i could do better......but you see im only 16 and really thats all the money i have for... sure im gonna go with your services but im gonna wait atleast two months till i could get the funds sure it would be awsome if i could get it up and running in a week or two with time and patience... i was thinking about going MAP ...ohh and i have a question can you do MAP and velocity stacks at the same time????

$450 is about as good as it gets. Does that include a transmission? Either way it's a good local deal. Just make sure that the motor is internally clean and free from sludge. A sludgy motor is not a good deal at any price.

People run the BT electronics and map sensor specifically to run velocity stacks and open throttles. Most stacks won't fit in the silvertop airbox.

If you have a motor for $450, it's possible to get this swap done with your $1000 budget.

All silvertops came with the c52. The main reason that the c52 is desirable is that it allows you the mount the starter on the intake side of the motor. This allows you to run the 20v header since it will not clear the exhaust mounted starter.

In your case this may not be an issue. With a $1000 budget, I'm guessing you'll be running the 16v exhaust manifold anyway to keep costs down.

In any event, that's a killer deal for a full silvertop swap set.

The price is normally $350+$30 return shipping.

for the coolant stuff, you can buy the side2side waterline kit, or hunt around in the autozone for pipes that fit to come up with your own.

Yup, there's no wiring for you to do. Also, you'll have working A/C, and a working engine bay fan. I've never seen a Diy'er have the engine bay fan operational.

Wow, $450 is a hell of a deal if it comes with everything. The silvertops I was seeing were $650, and the blacktops were $750-850, which is why I was saying it'd cost more to convert. (Blacktop ECUs often run $200+)
