Body panel differences '85 to '89

I have an '89 that needs a new trunk, left fender and a rear bumper.

I found an '85 at the wreckers that has all three parts in good condition. Will the trunk, fender and rear bumper from the '85 fit my '89 MK1?

the differences in body pieces between the MKIa and MKIb are:

front bumper
front valance
front spoiler
front fenders (MKIb has a hole in each for the front spoiler mount)
roof (MKIa were hard top and sunroof, MKIb had t-top added to the others)
engine bay vent
taillights and center panel
spoiler (85 had no 3rd brake light mounted in spoiler, 86-88 had "box" mounted to the center stanchion, and 89 was the only hear to have the flush type LED 3rd brake light)

this info does not include painted/color matched mirrors, door handles or the black stripe bumpers that came on the 1985 models.

That must have been drilled during assembly. The (north American) front fenders use the same part number throughout the entire AW11 production run.

Slight correction to a very useful and thorough list
