Bye Bye....
I thinks its finally time to part ways with my little MK1.... I just couldn't find what I needed (those damn piston rings!!!) for it and now i just lost interest in trying to do anything with it... Im selling/trading her to someone else who can put some love into it.... And since i'll be leaving for basic training soon It won't have to sit in the yard and rot.... I got a couple offers for it and hopefully it goes.... It just sucks to know that it doesn't need much and when I drive it down the driveway (yes it still drives!!) and all i wanna do is continue puttin down the road, but can't because it doesn't have the power to make it back up the hill- plus the smokes pretty bad... All it really needs is rings and maybe one piston(its kinda ugly looking), but after changing the head gasket without any experience with MR2's or pulling the motor and changing the timing belt in less than an hour (
oh yeah...) Im just not sure if i want to disassemble the motor again...Im gonna miss It(If i decide to get rid of it..)... But i'll get another when im back... ![]() ![]() |

I think I'll be able to get the parts you need. I just swapped a 20v in and I have the old engine sitting. I dont have time this week and I'm going away next week. I'll probably be able to get them out the following monday. That is if you dont sell it and want to keep working on it.

I have the entire engine. Once I get back, I'll break it down.

A whole engine you say?? Well, that'll work for me too!! but all i really need is piston rings- maybe a piston- or the block with crank and pistons, everything else on mine is in awesome shape... Well, if this doesn't follow through then I'll definately let you know...

I'm right outside Philly so if you want to come get it it's yours for the taking. I can get pics of it if you need them. I dont think I'll be taking anything off of that engine. All of the internals are still there just someof the things like cold starter injector isnt.

The guy did start it up and it did run. I yanked it for my 20v swap. It isnt the orignal engine from the car. The car had 224,230 miles on it but this was a "lower mileage" engine swap. He had a bunch of vac lines blocked off so it probably wasnt running as efficient as it could have been. I'll get some pics for you when it clears up a bit. I can tell you it does in fact run and sounds good. It's just sitting under a tarp in my driveway waiting for me to take it appart for parts down the road or just get rid of.

I took some pics. It's a lil messy but it ran fine.
![]() ![]() ![]() I'm trying to clear out the space and get some money for my swap so if you could get it, it would be great. Just send me a pm if youre interested and we'll work out the details. |
