I'll give you a race como, see who can get their car all shiny and painted first
j/kI will say one thing prepping for paint is not fun its dusty and hard work especially since my car has had a couple paint jobs and crashes since it rolled out the door in 91. Painting is such an ugly job for something that looks so good. |

I won't race to a shiney paintjob since I'm probably not going to use glossy paint
![]() the purpose of this paintjob isn't to make the car look good, it's to keep the weather here from eating it alive.... so much more work than just making it look good. To be completely honest, I'm not a fan of fresh glossy paint, I don't like the shine of it. Anyways day 6 is uploading, will be posted in 20 or so. tonight, assuming I continue to have no social life (friday night? wtf?) I'll be prepping her for the pressure washer... Bagging up wires and other lose ends, pulling drain plugs, that sort of stuff. Since I've flushed the coolant so many times now I've decided that its just rust water coming out, I may run the hose through the rad to get all the crap out... Unfortunately I have no real way of getting the wash process on timelapse, unless I borrow a tripod and use my other camera... which is doable, I guess. Pressure washing must be done outside. I'm starting to think the car was hit on the passenger rear quarterpanel at one point, the paint there seems to be more brittle, and is cracking off down to the metal in places now. 3,000 PSI water will probably tear it clean off! |

So today marks an important time, a time in which I'm done taking things apart and its time to start putting them back together.
The videos missed almost two full days. Unfortunately the project has expanded, and is outside of the scope of my stationary camera. |

stripping? It's stripped. The chasis is painted, and by weeks end I'll be putting the heating/AC systems and the wiring harness back in. (yay)

I still have a chance, havn't done anymore than an epic primer/sealer so far. But since it's so epic, I can leave it that way for up to five years without a top coat
![]() I'll be topcoating black, though. Once I've got her back together. You know, like a normal paintjob... |
