Today, it began
And I made a time-lapse video. Worked 8-5, then swam in the ocean from 5:30-7, then did what you see in the video... then had a drink and made the video while watching a movie. Anyways, More to come. Day 2 is up! Day 3, part 1- interior, etc Day 3 pt 2 Pretty much just a coolant flush and the last of the interior, minus the dash Day 4, part 1. Cleaning the garage, taking the handles (and windows, apparently) out of the doors Day 4, Part 2. Day 5- Sorry for the short day, I can't keep track of my thoughts so much today, and I was coming up with "extra" bolts that I couldnt figure out where they came from- not something I want to be dealing with when I put it back together, so I cut the night short. Day 6 Day 7 (boring) Day 8; Also boring, but now it's out of the way- the fun (sanding) can begin Day 9, sanding starts. Didn't want to go to bare-metal at all, but it turns out there was some previous body work done on the driverside thats not up to snuff, so we didnt have much of a choice. Day 10 Day 11 Day 12 Day 13 Long night after working all day, but near the end there was a drastic change in plans... Day 14 will not be on video, and it's likely that much of day 15 wont either. Day 14 15... 16. Anyone want to come help? Theres no way I'm going to make my deadline. 17, Stripping. 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 30, pt2 31 32 33 34 35 36 37 38 39 40 Last edited by como; 10-27-2009 at 09:10 PM.. |

yeah, it's my fathers garage. Right now its "clean"
Lots of stuff in the way, but I've got every tool I'll need to get it done ![]() Updates will probably be every other day or so, but progress will be slow. |

Full paintjob, coolant flush, fixing the AC (I hope...), replacing the interior carpet, hopefully fixing up the sound system a bit (it's pretty pathetic), replacing practically all the bushings, doing a proper undercoating, etc etc etc.
Basically refurbishing the damn thing to get it ready for what life in maine is like... Cold, hard, and long. Car was spoiled living out in the desert, it's biggest problem was a redneck with a rattlecan. (this thing has been sprayed about 6 times, from the look of it- never once properly) Working on day 2 now, transferring the pics from the garage to the server, then I gotta shrink/flip them, then turn them into a video, then upload it. Should be done in an hour or so. |

Alright, day 2 is posted. isn't viewable yet, but the first one took less than 5 mins to "process" so this should be ready within 10.
Alot more work today.... Who knew the front bumper could be so hard to remove? |

Day 3, parts 1 and 2 are up.
She's just about all stripped, just the dash, gas cover and side air-vent to come off tomorrow, then I can start organizing my pile of "spare parts", maybe I'll take her for a ride as-is around the block ![]() once everything is cleaned up nicely I guess I can start sanding. I've got alot of body work to do on the car itself, though. I've already found some never before seen dents I've got to take care of, and I'm going to have to build a custom rear trim... so I'll be busy for sure. Enjoy the vids! Remember, 1 second of video is 1 minute of my time.... Thanks for the support, hearing the camera click every 10 seconds is really the only motivation I've got left at this point ![]() |

Hope nobody is holding their breath for tonights update, my back is sore and my friend with the powerwasher bailed on me tonight, so I'm taking it off to drink and watch movies.

5 posts in a row are all me? Losing steam here guys, today I removed the rest of the dash- heating, AC, blower, and that crappy sheep-like insulator that wants to hold water to the metal... then put the steering wheel back in so I can move her around, but I pulled the wiring harness, so there wont be any running her for a while...
Putting together the day 6 video, but due to lack of interest I think I'll head to bed early and post it tomorrow. Hopefully, I'll get to take the 3000psi gas powered pressure washer to her tomorrow night, though ![]() (That'll strip some paint...) |
