Clutch lines, master cylinder, slave cylinder, pedal box, flywheel, clutch disk and pressure plate. I think that is about it on a fly through. Oh and a bodysaw/drill, the position for the master was blanked out on mine so I had to saw a hole then drill for the studs to come through. The only other thing is wiring the reverse lights and leaving the auto gear thing in park so the car starts or bridging the contacts needed, forget which ones that is down the track though.

Edit: axles should be the same but if its a SC box or something they will be different

I knew that it was just typo Mine failed once and I drove home by selecting which gear manually on the tranny so shift cables are optional imo

still more stuff needed

I've got an 86 AT out back as a parts car and it's console might be slightly different than the manual one in my street car. Check it out.

The ECU's are different so you'll need to juke that AT ECU.
(Your a very lucky dude, the connectors for the 2 ECU's are the same though)
(pictured)

I just measured the axles in the AT vs those I have in storage from my manuals and it appears the short side (drs) is not the same, the long side looks pretty close to the same specs?.

Some ignition switches in automatic transmissions require a extra wire that you may have to look into.?

There is also a shifting "cage" that bolts onto the slave cly and transmission perimeter that holds both shifter cable ends that Muffinman suggested you use.
(and holds stock bleeder for the clutch slave)

Note: I personally think the Toyota selected OEM clutch bleeder position SUCKS!! I'd suggest threading one ontop the engine, all 5 of my cars are/were so equipped and there is no negative results.

By the way if that clutch disc you got with that transmission has rubber balls in the center throw it away.

BTW we always use a new throwout bearing during builds, and you might consider a new rear seal on the crank if you see seepages there.

Oh yeah, that wire atop the new tranny? That's the backup light switch.

You've got guts going into this exchange blindly, good thing there is a Forum like this that can point you in the right direction with the parts you'll need, wouldn't you say?

Good luck buddy, your gonna learn lots of new things about your car real fast; just hope your brain doesn't explode in the process?

Mine did years ago.

I tried an automatic passenger side axle on my 88 5 speed and it did not work. It was a tad too long and just wouldnt go in. The splines fit no problem but I could not get it to work.

Thanks for all the help. By all means im not a professional mechanic. I can do the normal stuff such as timing belt and such. This job seems complicated and require alot of work. I dont feel like messing up a perfectly AT MR2. But if I have to in the future, i will do it
