Better or worse??

K I am thinking of taking out all my carpet and just spraying the floor with a rubber spray/paint (not sure which would be better or easier to apply). The main reason for this is because my carpet is in bad shape lol plus I have seen a rubber flooring in other cars (mainly trucks) and I like the way it look plus its easy to clean. Not really going for any weight savings but if I did get any that would be cool lol.

Any thoughts, has anyone seen this done before or advise against it?

I know a few guys that rhino lined there off road vehicles. The floor pan is not going to be perfectly flat under the carpet I'm sure. It'll looked pretty bad by the time you get it done unless you want to level it out with some self leveling concrete. (Don't laugh I've seen it done). Of course, then you get into weight issues. I highly reccomend you just save up and buy some molded carpet to replace yours.

It'll look like hell because of what the metal under the carpet looks like.

My auto parts store sells rolls of 3'x9' carpet for a little over $10.

You can buy a foam sleeping mat in the camping section of your local department store to place underneath the carpet. They cost under $10.

If your interior has rust, it should be painted to prevent more of the same. Painting inside the car causes some unwanted paint to float around and deposit where you don't want it. Like the radio, and instrument panel, windows etc.

That is the sort of thing I would do
Also some marine shops will have carpet that is "ready to lay" for boat floors it is hard wearing, waterproof and comes with its own backing not sure on price though I used to just get the the end of the roll for free since I knew the shop owner well.
