no power

i started up my 88 mk1 and i floor the gas and it has no power-
i know it shuld have more i have driven them before
the only kick it gets is when the tvis kicks in-
any ideas-
so far i switched out the
clutch-exaust-belts-intake

Clogged cat? Do you burn oil? Check to see how much exhaust is flowing out the tail pipe.

LOL, first thing you should have checked was for a clogged fuel filter, did you?

i changed out my exaust-so the cat and muffler are new-it seemed to run a tad rich- i thought it was the valve gasket-

If you have no power after replacing the timing belt, that's the first thing to check. If one of your cams is off a tooth, that will cut into your power a lot. It's also pretty easy to check, just verify all the timing marks (both cams and the crank) line up at the same time. Then check your spark timing with a timing light.

Also check for vacuum leaks, esp. around the intake gasket.

i had an oil change and new filter-
and the cams r fine- im gonna chek the intake lines-
wow found out it need 2 motor mounts that myt cause the engine to rock when i hit the throttle and pull on the cable- hmm-
