compression results?

Hey guys, looking at buying a replacement 4agze. I found someone that has one, complete with trans etc... He did a compression test on it, but i don't know what the numbers mean... is this good?

cyl1: 175
cyl2: 175
cyl3: 197
cyl4: 200

does this indicate it has good compression and the engine is probably good?

i think i read about someone doing a test and someone else comented on it saying that anything lower then 170 is bad. take it with a grain of salt tho and hopefuly someone will give you a for sure answer.

Those are good numbers.

The only negative is that the numbers aren't all closer together.

But then compression tests are somewhat variable. If the engine is cold, or warm, and if oil in added to the cylinders through the spark plug hole: can all drastically affect the readings.

Overall, sounds like a viable engine.

well if he tested 1, 2, 3,4 then then engine would have been warmer for the later right?

NO. it should be tested warm but if it's tested cold it won't warm up for the last 2 cylinders.
