mod wiring or junking
I'm pretty much to the point of just saying screw it and parting out a perfect bodied MR2 and selling the engine i bought due to wiring.
I've posted and posted and literally spent 4-6 hours a day searching old threads on multiple forums to find a guide on how to mod this damn wiring... I've contacted people that do the mods for money, begging for a guide or procedure step list i can follow to do this myself. even after SWEARING i would never release the info because i'm sure it would hurt their business, a big fat no. Between the price of having my harness mod'd and a PNP ECU in and tuned it costs more than I paid for the damn engine!!!! even after i offered to drive to the PNP place and let them use my car to build the basemaps for all the future JDM 4agze kits sold... SO, in a last ditch effort, help me if you can. Please..... I have a 88 SC MR2 with a bad motor. I bought a JDM 4agze that came out of a corolla. (its the 8.9:1 compression engine) This JDM engine also comes with the JDM ECU and wiring harness uncut. My 88 SC MR2 is 100% complete and has an uncut wiring harness and ECU.... Does any one have a guide that is specific or can walk me through what is needed to be done to put the JDM engine and ECU into my car, hooked up and running???? I have never done anything like this, and may have some retarded questions due to not knowing how it all works, but i am smart and can learn it VERY quickly. Offering a guide and a phone number so i could call with questions would be even better.... Someone please help me with this before i seriously just give up on the car. |

just gonna say, i am pretty sure 90% of this forum was at 1 point or another in this position. my clutch slave cyl line was stripped and i spent hours trying to fix it but ended up paying for it. i was soooo ready to just sell it. really tho it will be worth it in the end to keep...

because the US harness wont connect directly to the JDM engine and there are differences in the engines. for example, the JDM engine doesn't have EGR (exhaust gas reuse) which basically cycles emmisions back into the intake for reuse at cruising speed....

I was ready to part mine out this summer.
Just step back for a week or ten days . . . chill out. Start up again, when your blood pressure drops down some. With any giant gob of wiring . . . just focus on one wire at a time. Or if there are multiple wires to a device .. . . . one device at a time. |
