The weirdest thing happened...
In my other two threads, I was freaking out about my clutch not engaging the gears and being unable to shift after I had replaced the master cylinder which was leaking.
However, this morning I started up the car and pumped the clutch for a good 2-3 min and all of a sudden it drives fine now. I took it back to the mechanic and they said it was fine, but I'm still cautious. If anyone knows why this happened, I would like to know as well. To everyone who commented, I really appreciate that you guys genuinely tried to help. This is probably the most helpful and supportive forum I've been in and I hope to learn more about how to fix and how to take care of my MR2 from you guys. Thanks again ![]() |

You've got a bubble in your clutch line, it may have worked its way out. I still say you need to bleed it.

if its working i wouldn't mess with it. but i been there and the fluid still leaked out. check the Master Slave Cyl every time you go for a drive cause bleeding it isn't fun...

Ok, next time you go out do this. First thing get in and pump the clutch. Pump and pump and pump till you get pressure. Then go ahead and drive it. Let it sit while you are at work or whatever. When you get back in see if it's soft. Re bleed it if it's soft. You still have air in the lines. This may just be because you have air in the lines that wasnt bled out in the first place or it means your slave is letting air in. The slave can be replaced in about an hour if you work at a good pace and know what you are doing. Remove the exhaust manifold and then you will be able to get to it much easier. When my master was leaking the carpet got messed up completely and after driving down the highway for 45 minutes I wouldnt be able to down shift so I just pumped the clutch a bunch of times and built enough pressure. You'll be able to get by for a little while by just pumping the pedel up each time but deffinatly get it fixed right.
