Smile Clutch sounds

At idle or whenever I let go of the clutch it makes a weird ticking sound, but when I push it in; it goes away. Please help me figure out what this problem is. Thanks!

Most likely your throw out bearing is going out. Do you know if the clutch has ever been replaced???

that sounds wierd for a throwout bearing since when he isnt on the pedal it makes sounds...could a rivet or something be broken on the disk maybe?

Mine did it as well. Throw out bearing. Even when the pedal is out, the throw out bearing may make slight contact with the pressure plate.

My old diesel pickup does that, noisy input bearings (normal in GM manual transmissions) rattle with the clutch out in neutral. The throw-out bearing in my MR2 (which has taken me off the road) does the opposite, the noise starts when the clutch is depressed and goes away when the clutch is all the way out.

Wear in the input bearing/shaft is not unusual for C50 transmissions, it's the same design issue that causes 5th gear pop out. It will probably do ok in this condition for many moons.

naw the throw out bearing can take a beating. it'll eventually come apart but it'll be a while.
