Windshield washer

Well, the windshield washer doesn't work, doesn't make a peep. Whats the best way to diagnose the problem, access the button and see if it is malfunctioning or... ?

if you have a multimeter you can check the plug at the washer pump to see if you have power (with the button pushed in of course). if you don't have power it could be a fuse or maybe bad connection or switch. if you do have power then you might just have a bad pump.

I have this same problem, just been too busy to mess with it. Let me know if you figure out the problem. I need to mess with mine before winter hits. Road salt sucks

Could not have written it better myself. If you don't have a multimeter, have a friend pull the lever and you listen to see if the pump is working.

only downside is if it's not working you won't know if it's a bad pump or no power but definately a good start. you could take the bottle out and run 12V to the pump to rule out bad pump.

You can get a test light from most auto parts stores for $2-3 it wont tell your voltage but it will show power.

The pump is a common part, it's used in a lot of different Toyotas. My local Autozone has one in stock for $15, I'd be surprised if your parts house didn't have one as well. Won't do you any good if your wiring is bad.
